Cold Store Operative

We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our farm team as a Cold Store Operative to join our award-winning Company.

Callestick Farm Ice Cream Ltd is a leading manufacturer and supplier of dairy ice cream and sorbets to a wide range of customers in retail and foodservice.

This role would suit a candidate with a positive, can-do attitude who is comfortable working in low temperature environments with specialist PPE and working as part of a close-knit production and warehouse team.

This is a full-time position 40 hours per week Monday to Friday

Salary will be dependent on experience.

Role Responsibilities

  • Storing and picking products in the freezer (full PPE will be provided)

  • Goods inwards and outwards, loading and unloading

  • Picking/packing orders to go out for delivery (some heavy lifting maybe required)

  • Ensure all stock is stored in the correct manner

  • Carry out regular stock takes

  • Keep a record of and report any shortages to the Distribution Manager

  • Keep inventory and management systems up to date

  • Organise and deliver goods from the stores to the relevant departments as required

  • Communicating all issues/faults to the distribution manager

  • Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and organisation in the freezer warehouse

  • Maybe required to help out with deliveries throughout Cornwall in our busier times

Candidate Requirements

  • Good time management, punctual and reliable

  • Keen attention to detail

  • Exceptional communication and customer services skills

  • Team player with a positive attitude to work

  • Full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points

  • Fork lift/counterbalances licence (not essential)

  • Flexible approach to overtime during peak periods
