We have been farming Callestick since 1953, when Simon and Judith Parker moved to Callestick Farm, initially operating a traditional mixed farm with chickens, pigs, milking cows, sheep, beef stock and also growing our own cereals.
In the late 1970’s their son, Sebastian, returned to the farm with his wife Angela, having moved away to study environmental studies and agriculture with the aim to modernise the farm. In 1989, following the introduction of milk quotas, Simon and Angela began making ice cream whilst Sebastian ran the farm and Judith helped to look after their four sons, Ben, Sam, Josh and Jake.
Callestick today is still a very family run affair with Angela and Sebastian taking a step back, sons Ben and Sam taking the reigns. Ben works on the operational side of the ice cream, having been away to study process engineering. Sam has one true passion, so puts his agriculture degree into practice looking after our 300 strong herd on the farm.
