We’re sponsoring a popular local family cycling trail

We’ve joined forces with the National Trust at Lanhydrock, helping to fund resurfacing work on the Lodge Trail – to make it easier for children on small wheeled bikes to use.

The 1 ½ mile green trail is already enjoyed by visitors of all ages and is suitable for bikes, trailers, tagalongs and disability bikes. It weaves between the trees along a wide, well surfaced track and is the perfect introduction to cycling for little ones. Over 15,000 people use the trail every year – which amounts to almost half of Lanhydrock’s cycle trail users.

“This is an ideal partnership for us,” explains Amy Breach, Marketing Manager. “Last year we started working with Cornwall’s first professional cycling team Saint Piran and created an award-winning ice cream for them. This new sponsorship of Lanhydrock’s Lodge trail allows us to support the very youngest riders experiencing their first taste of the joy of cycling.”

Joe Thompson, Cycle Hire Manager at Lanhydrock says “The cycle trails at Lanhydrock have been designed to engage visitors with off road cycling. Callestick’s sponsorship of the Lodge trail means that we can continue to offer an easy first step into the world of mountain biking.”

Lanhydrock’s popular cycle trails attract visitors all year round. As well as the Lodge Trail, there are a range of other trails with increasing technical challenges, for more experienced riders. The National Trust also offers cycle hire, a café and adventure play area.

Our ice cream is available from the Park Café and Stables tea room.
