We’re delighted to announce that we won the Family Business of the Year title at last night’s Western Morning News Business Awards! Not only that, we were runner up in the Small Business of the Year and Business of the Year categories – an incredible achievement given the number of excellent companies from across the South West region who were also competing.
The awards event took place in the spectacular surroundings of the Plymouth Pavilions and around 400 people were there to hear editor Bill Martin talk about celebrating the Western Morning News 160th anniversary as a 6-day a week newspaper that covers Devon and Cornwall. We feel very privileged to have been declared winners at such an auspicious moment in the publication’s history and wish the paper many more years of informative and entertaining reporting.
2019 marks a significant anniversary for us too, of course. It’s 30 years since Angela and Sebastian Parker first decided to start making ice-cream on the farm that Sebastian’s parents, Simon and Judith, bought in 1953. Since then, our business has grown substantially and our multi-award-winning products are now being enjoyed as far afield as China! We’re also very excited to be working in partnership with Levi Roots who famously launched his Caribbean-inspired Reggae Reggae sauce on a national scale after appearing on Dragon’s Den. Watch this space for more details on some incredible and very different new flavours early in 2020.
Over the moon as we are with last night’s fantastic accolades, we know we owe our ongoing success not only to the amazing commitment of our Callestick team but to you, our customers. Your feedback, loyalty and enthusiasm for what we do is enormously important to us – stoking our determination to spread awareness of Callestick Farm ice-cream even further and wider than we do already.
Thank you for being on this journey with us. After such an amazing evening and indeed whole year, we honestly couldn’t be prouder!
